Design
The brief specified that the shop fittings needed to be robust and lightweight to allow shops to be retrofitted and altered at will. In order to create lightweight walls we developed a set of foam fluted and reeded panels which bounced back retaining their form upon impact.
Manufacturing
Several variations of foam cladding were tested by creating mock-ups to understand how the material will react to fire spread and repeated denting from objects such as high heels.
Install
The freestanding furniture and display walls were manufactured and erected in the workshop for the client to inspect and any changes to be made. We also created a modular wall to bridge the spaces between furniture.
The result
Once the client was happy with the joinery the units were handed over to the brand along with a demounting demonstration ready to be fitted in various stores across the country.
